Best Banking Needs

With what the typhoon left us. Now is the time to check how we are doing financially. We lost our car. Having it fixed will cost a lot. My husband and I are very much concerned on the amount of money that we will be shedding in order to get it working again. As we researched, most likely, we want to concentrate on interest CD rates. The best bank who can have the best offer will win. This way, we are sure that our money is safe and moving. Anytime we need extra, there's something we could pull out.

I Gotta Have New Laundry Bags On My List

One of my goals as I do my Christmas list to get new products for my very own home. Most especially new laundry bags, bed sheets, comforters and some kitchen wares. As I was doing my list of some prospects, I decided that some personalized kids backpacks for the little ones this Christmas would be something great and different. It is going to be useful for them all year round.
As for my Mommy friends and relatives. Some useful and pretty Mint’s draw string laundry bags would be nice. No more lugging around a full laundry bag by the drawstrings! The laundry bags are also created with Mint’s signature fabrics and colorful border designs. Match the laundry bag with a coordinated towel wrap or duffle bag for a great gift set!
My nieces will adore this stephen joseph quilted backpack. These adorable Stephen Joseph quilted backpacks are great for toddlers! Made from 100% cotton, they are machine washable and durable. The front flaps have a double drawstring with magnetic snap closures. It has a carry strap handle on top as well shoulder straps. The shoulder straps are adjustable using buttons and button holes.

Food Trip Friday--- The Chocoholic Strikes Again!

Its an early FTF entry! Took advantage of the time while my son is sleeping. He is sick that is why... and I am very worried. So a quick post---

A friend from America paid us a visit last week. One of her "pasalubongs" (presents/keepsakes) are these Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate bars. Its one of my favorite chocolate bars. Actually, anything dark and minty, count it on my list.
I would go all the way to Cash and Carry Makati just to buy my favorite chocolates for a very cheap price. Its a one stop, big shop for me. Such as these two.
Packs of 3 Musketeers and bars of Hershey's Special Dark.
These chocolates are my munchies while I'm at the computer doing my stuff. I would usually go for sandwiches, chips and coke. But lately, I try not to ruin my fruit diet, I added some dark pieces for clear satisfaction .

Going On A Fruit Diet

I did a lot of eating over the past weekend. Imagine, in one day I had party food for lunch and some Chinese dinner. Not only that, while out buying stuff for the party, I was also munching on some goodies. To make it short, I gained weight and I grew a little big.
Fruits has been part of our meal everyday. This time, I'm adding more and replacing our usual snacks with this healthy and refreshing goodness.
I feel lighter inside and out. I'm particularly a grape person. Seedless that is. Some Japanese cantaloupe and watermelon gives that refreshment. It eliminates my cravings. For the health conscious, fruits can be taken at night instead of your regular meal.

David's Tea House

The#1 Authentic Chinese Restaurant in my heart. Located at the Mall of Asia.

As always, when it comes to family dinner,s Chinese is our best choice. I have been to several Chinese restos, but David's Tea House has the most authentic Chinese flavored dishes at a very reasonable price.
For every dish, my husband would let me smell and find the distinct flavor. Then, he explained to me that the certain flavor or smell greatly symbolizes the busy streets of HongKong and China (Beijing). He traveled both that's why he connects. Its actually one of his favorite travels.

The set of dishes comes in packages Php3200 2 sets each.

Red Ribbon's White Forest Cake

It has been a regular for the family to buy Red Ribbon cakes. The thing I love about their cakes are the distinct flavors they give.
Red Ribbon Has Always Been Part Of Our Family...
Something WHITE was officially launched today. I am very proud to become part of this event. White chocolate, white chiffon, and long- stem maraschino cherries. Combined that will surely give delight on your first bite. The luscious taste from every slice and the inviting look of the cake itself.

Introducing, Red Ribbon's New White Forest Cake!!!
Regular (P560), Junior (P335)
Visit any Red Ribbon Branch or call 8-77-77 and have it delivered!

This new yummy goodness was greatly influenced by Red Ribbon's Black Forest cake. Black Forest has been one of Red Ribbon's signature cake. It captures our hearts all the time. With this, Red Ribbon launched the very first White Forest cake in the Philippines.
It is made with creamy white chocolate and light, moist chiffon cake layered with real cherry bits and a fusion of white chocolate flakes.
I love it! The chiffon was very soft, not too sweet that you will appreciate the twist of the cherry filling. The long- stemmed Maraschino cherries on top makes it more inviting. I just can't wait to have more of this new sensation.

Aside from this White mouth watering news, Red Ribbon has a new set of pastries and dishes to enjoy.
My son fell in love with their Ube Mamon first time he tried it.
Spaghetti with Meatballs
This is the best Spaghetti with Meatballs I have ever tasted. It's so gourmet. The meatballs were made out of 100% beef. Everything looks fresh and natural with this dish.
For a hearty morning, this is perfect. Grilled Ensaimada, scrambled eggs, served with the new Farmer's Ham made of tender lean meat with maple syrup.
Garlic and Chicken Mushroom
My favorite. There's just something about the flavor that I can't explain and distinguish. So good, it makes me want to eat some more.

Thank God for Red Ribbon! It's the ideal dining place for the family. Not to forget, the love and treasure they give for every occasion we celebrate, for every moment we spend with our families.

Christmas On Its Way

We're less than 3 months away from the Holiday Season. As early as September, I am already making my Christmas list and will check it twice as we reach December. I have a family of 3. One of the things I discovered that would really be fun is for us to have matching sweaters. I saw several pictures in magazines and books. It brought me an exciting feel to have it this year. Ugly Sweaters they call it. Actually its not ugly. These are sweaters with Christmas design knitted on the sweater. Christmas Sweaters of cute designs will make the holidays merrier. Plus it will add fun colors in your holiday pictures.
There isn't more glamorous than women's holiday sweaters .
There isn't a more glamorous or sensual piece of jewelry than the pearl necklace. The incorporation of a stringy pearl neckline drooping between the bosom is a design cue from that very treasure.

RSM Calamba Laguna

To be honest, I really don't know what RSM stands for. The sign said: RSM Lutong Bahay. Anyway, we came from a very long road trip that day. We were all craving for some home-cooked Filipino dishes. My dad would always eat at RSM everytime he goes to Calamba. It sure is a nice restaurant. A bit pricey though for a lutong-bahay resto.

The restaurant's ambiance is very cozy. I'll take it as a good reason why we paid a little extra. I wouldn't mind paying for comfort and fine dining. Especially after taking a long drive.
Lots of food and other delights to choose from

Food Trip Friday--- Filipino Desserts

LECHE FLAN is a rich custard dessert
PALITAW which I bought from a Manang (lady) beside the church. PALITAW is a flat rice cake, drizzled with grated coconut roasted sesame seeds and sugar. Made from sticky rice. Form flat, round pieces then dropped in boiling water. When pieces starts to float, this indicates that they're done.

Taho

Since childhood, I have been taking this Filipino morning snack. A small cup is not enough. For my son? a tall container is good. Like really good.
Same ingredient behind TOFU, TAHO is a protein-rich food coagulated from an extract of soybeans.
Mixed with arnibal (brown sugar and vanilla syrup). Topped with pearl sago(pearl tapioca). This staple comfort food can be found everywhere in the country and being sold at anytime of the day. If you're in the Philippines, make sure get to taste this sweet delight. One hot cup in the morning, will keep you smiling the whole day.

DIWAL

Diwal is a known shellfish to be found at the waters of Western Visayas, more at the Panay Island area here in the Philippines. My Dad flew in some from his hometown in Iloilo. Still alive and spurting out seawater.
In the city of Roxas in Iloilo, they celebrate the DIWAL HARVEST SEAFOOD FESTIVAL. Diwals are harvested 25 feet under. You will dig your arms 2 feet more in order to get this Angel wing seashell. Diwal is Visayan for tongue. Because of its protruding mussel that looks like a tongue sticking out, it was then named DIWAL.

Diwal became almost extinct in the coastal waters of Western Visayas because of over harvesting and trawling by locals who found a lucrative business in selling diwal. The shell's ability to command a high retail price is due largely to the people's rising demand for it because of its sweet taste and tender mussel texture when broiled. The local government of Roxas City, to celebrate the re-emergence of diwal in its coastal waters, held the first and only Diwal Harvest Seafood Festival in the country.-source-
Taste like oyster and mussle combined. It was very rich. Broiled with lots of chopped ginger, garlic, some salt and pepper. To be able to appreciate its flavor, it is best eaten plain without any condiments. You will surely enjoy this rare delicatessen.
