Krispy Kreme's Delectable Doughnuts: Speculoos Cookie Butter and Salted Caramel

Just a quick post. Over the weekend, after doing some toy shopping in Greenhills, as always, we buy doughnuts. It's been quite some time since we bought something from Krispy Kreme. Our recent visit was fun-tastic because we were able to try Krispy Kreme's new line of Delectable Desserts: Speculoos Cookie Butter and Salted Caramel doughnuts.
We ordered the flavours that are already familiar to us. Salted Caramel has been our new favorite when it comes to pastries, especially macarons and cupcakes. Krispy Kreme's Salted Caramel doughnuts nailed it. It's not too sweet. The whole doughnut just melts inside your mouth as one savors the delicious mix of salted caramel.

I was curious on how the Speculoos Cookie Butter doughnuts would taste like. Let's just put it this way, among the 2, the Dark Chocolate Vanilla Cookie Butter is my favorite. The doughnut is topped   with Dark Chocolate and crushed French biscuit. The Vanilla Cookie Butter filling makes this doughnut more delectable. This reminded me that the batch of Cocoa  Almond and  Crunchy Biscoff  I ordered are on their way.

It's been awhile since Krispy Kreme came up with delightfully flavored doughnuts. This batch of Delectable Desserts is a notch higher. I hope Krispy Kreme will never stop creating magic.  I will definitely come back for more, my family loves it!

By the way, their Delectable Desserts are available until July 31, 2013 only.

Good 'Ol Miggy's Super Tacos

If you're on the hunt for the nearest Miggy's, here in Quezon City, it's located at Maginhawa St (Sikatuna Village) right beside Good Burgers. Miggy's Super Tacos I must say is one of my generation's favorite hangout and choice of Tex-Mex food. Miggy's  serves Mexican dishes at a very reasonable price. The Miggy's haven in Sikatuna is our usual stop everytime we're in the area. It's such a blessing I must say, because it's near my son's tutor. Most of the time, while waiting for my son, I drive to Miggy's and that's where I wait while having my Mexican fix.
Our friends from Alabang miss Miggy's so much because they mentioned that the nearest Miggy's in their area closed down. We promised to take them here at Miggy's Q.C. on their next visit to our place.

Here are our regular orders from Miggy's Super Tacos:
Chicken and beef Burrito
Nachos Grande
Raspberry Iced Tea
Chili Con Carne with Rice
Their dining area is small but very cozy, air-conditioned and they also have Wifi available. It's a food stop where one can enjoy good food without spending too much. A place for everybody.

Mango Salsa

At home, one of our favorite snacks as a family is Nachos Supreme. I love munching on Nachos during movie nights, using my iPad, browsing a free ebook and just hanging out with my family. A good Nachos Supreme includes everything on top including some homemade salsa. I'm suppose to make peach- mango salsa, but just when I thought I have peaches in my pantry it turned out that I don't. So it ended up as "mango salsa" which is still commonly served in restaurants.
If you intend to make Peach- Mango Salsa, this recipe will still work, just add peaches.

Ingredients:
  • 2 whole ripe mangoes (peeled and sliced into cubes)
  • 2 whole peaches (chopped into cubes)
  • 3 red tomatoes (seeds removed and chopped into small pieces)
  • 1 red or white onion (minced)
  • 1 tbsp of sliced and pitted black olives
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro or wansoy
  • 1 tbsp chopped or minced Jalapeno
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice or calamansi juice
  • a dash of salt
*olive oil is optional

How To:
  • In a bowl, mix everything well.
  • In a separate large bowl, assemble your nachos, beef, and cheese then top it with your homemade mango salsa.
It's a healthy snack for the family. I prefer this more than the usual potato chips we buy in the supermarket. Everything's made fresh.
