Grilled Cheese and Homemade Potato Mojos

Snack Time Wednesday is rich with 2 of my favorite munchies. Grilled Cheese Sandwich served with crispy, homemade potato mojos. This is really nothing new. I've posted about these 2 before.

You can find the recipe and instructions here: Potato Mojos, Grilled Tuna and Cheese
enchie’s kitchen
I made some Mayo-Garlic dip to go with my Mojos. By the way, I call it Mojos named after the famous Shakey's Potato Mojos. It's my favorite expecially when served with their fried chicken. I don't want to break any rules, but I get hungry for Mojos a lot. Until my sister who is a culinary student was taught how to make them. The potatoes are originally baked first. To make it easier my recipe skipped the baking part. Now, in case I crave for it, like everyone else, I can whip my own Mojos at home anytime.

Grilled cheese has always been one of the easiest snacks to prepare. I often add ham or spam.

Mojos Recipe---As requested by my fellow Food Trippers

Sorry guys wasn't able to post the recipe. As we all know I got sick, that's why my FTF entry on Mojos was short.

Here is the recipe for the Potato Mojos! One word to describe it---EASY!

What You Will Be Needing:

*4 medium size potatoes (wash well with skin on), slice into thin pieces
*4-5 tbsp all purpose flour (seasoned with salt and lots of ground pepper)
*3 eggs beaten
*cooking oil (for deep frying)

How To:

*dip each potato slice in egg, then roll on seasoned flour (coat enough to cover both sides of the potato--- not too thick)
*deep fry until golden brown

Mayo-garlic sauce:

mix 4-5 tbsp plain mayo, minced garlic, salt

ENJOY!

Food Trip Friday---Homemade Potato Mojos

Well what do you know, I have an entry for FTF after all. Since I'm sick with colds and flu, I have been craving for all sorts of food and flavors. I ended making some Potato Mojos, popularized by Shakey's Pizza here in the Philippines. My sister taught me how to make Mojos just last week. Her recipe tasted even better than the ones served in the fastfood (sorry!).

As usual, Potato Mojos are best served with Mayo-garlic sauce. Of course, also made by yours truly. Making Potato Mojos is as easy as counting 1, 2, 3. This is definitely the answer to my cravings. My son will love it too---minus the mayo-garlic :D

All you need are some thin slices of potatoes(do not peel), flour, beaten eggs, lots of pepper, salt, oil for deep frying and your favorite dried herbs and powdered flavoring. Procedure: Basic deep frying.
