I've never heard of red rice. Is the taste different? Does it cook the same? Can it be used in any recipe calling for rice?

Hi Martha. Yup it is the same but its more rich with fiber. And it cooks exactly the same. Perfect for our friends on diet.

But I don't know if it fits other rice recipes.

So why is red rice not that popular in the United States.
If it is better in nutritional value, then why do majority of consumers not prefer red rice as their staple food.

Is red rice harder to chew? Harder to mill? or nothing compared to the taste of rice?

try red rice with curry (either red or green curry). the nutty flavor from red rice compliments very well with curry. I have been a convert to red rice for sometime.
